Following Directions / Recipes + Cooking Class
This class provides an opportunity to learn all steps involved in planning a delicious and nutritious meal. The group will be selecting meals, shopping for supplies, prepping the food, and dining together.
Problem Solving + Scavenger Hunt
After we work through problem solving techniques for situations big and small, we will put our skills to the test with a scavenger hunt. This hands-on learning experience will allow participants to practice problem solving in a tangible way.
Questions to Break the Ice + Social Game Night
This event will help enhance participant’s ability to introduce themselves, get to know new people, and make a good first impression. We will spend the evening getting to know each other and playing ice breaker games.
Each month, a different participant will lead the discussion of that month’s book choice.
SLU Basketball Game and Lunch at Pappy’s
Thank you to SLU Billikens for offering us free tickets to the game! We’ll grab a bite to eat at a local favorite restaurant before walking over to Chaifetz Arena for the game.
The Countertop Cooking theme for this month is Mexican food. Let staff know if you have any specific recipe ideas or requests. We will work together to cook several recipes, and then sit down to eat our creations.
Dining Out: Applebees
Join some friends for a delicious meal. There will be lots of time for conversation. Choose the dining out event in a location near you: this allows you to meet people who live in your area. You may even exchange contact information so you can visit these restaurants together again!
Social College: Asking for Help
If asking for help feels uncomfortable or hard, this Social College class may help! The group will learn a few strategies about how to ask for help. You can share stories of when it was hard to ask for help and get feedback from the group.
